Far away sounds imagine diamond patterns
Some kind of hieroglyphics against concrete
Faces reappear from nowhere
Like ghosts shipping us flipside
To out-of-town relatives
Hitting the world with 2 x 4’s
And a streetcar named Desire
Like dogs running to whomever has treats
Licking their black feet
Moments fracture a sonic boom
Gouging out the toughest opening
Like children at the edge of a continent
Hanging on by a thread
Meanwhile, 2 more babies are on their way in
Today came home before sunset
And I thought about spending my whole life
Inside a city....
When a carefree chariot, suddenly drove up
Placing garlic around my neck
Without resisting the notion
Pointed my nose toward some unknown Horizon
The song was over
But the music still hovered inside my head

what I love the most about your poetry is the images you leave us with, and the thoughts held within...
again, you capture a moment in words.  Very well done.

LeeJ.,
It's a delight to be back online!  You leave such powerful imagery.  Loved this.

  Moments fracture a sonic boom

I really liked the garlic part, too!  Have a good day.

Awesome comes to mind every time I read one of your works and this is no exception.  Your seemingly flawless talent for taking a feeling and projecting it across a screen in the minds eye is amazing.  Excellent write and even better read.  Let's hope the music never dies.

Ahhh, you are a poet for sure.  But your insight in your living is magnificent too.
