![]() After all this time, I can still feel those bright glowing orbs Burning holes into the very soul of me Like hot embers scorching the most bitter night. Green eyes so fixed in glare, stare Through now flaming dull red matted hair Worn thin over ashen skin that had long ago Lost a fight to live and its color took flight. I can still feel her bitter cold iced hand So slowly they had turned Like her open and accepting heart To but a monument of carved stone. Even in the wake of my waning wisdom Why do I still see her ghost blocks my path? Teasing, extending a bony hand for me to hold Then retracting it in such sick laughter. After all this time I can’t resist her cup of incantation wine As it causes constant new perdition While she crawls about simply Warming a starving mind. Silent screams for intervention, Seeking peace are never answered Her spirit song holds me strong, Forcing on my soul, a brand new crease. I venture still into her call to unknown waters, Trusting in my inner voice, Hoping to bend like Willow when I fall Into yet another night’s sea full of sorrow. After all this time, Our friendship binds are nary forgotten, Not to be purged by any desperate grief But still kept alive at least in our loss. The problem with this ghost however ia, That even her death doesn’t bring any relief. After all this time, I still drink from the cup Hoping I'll numb on her incantation wine. Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing. ~ Albert Schweitzer |

an interesting piece... with a story behind it I am sure... sometimes we are given cup and find dregs to sip..and poison invades our own incantations... or incarnations.. |

The problem with this ghost however, Is that even her death doesn’t bring any relief. After all this time, I still drink from the cup Hoping I'll numb on her incantation wine. Its so hard to find peace when you've lost someone who is truly your spirit soul. My heart aches for you as I know this feeling. hugs, Marti A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows. |

Boy, oh boy Sharon, this one runs deep - beautifully written. I hope you'll forgive me, but I'm selfishly glad that you continue to drink from that cup, because Willow sure brings beautiful words and amazing poetry from the depths of you. A friendship that ran that deep in life, can only be further deepened by your cherished memories and remembrances ... never could it or should it, be forgotten. ![]() What a wonderful read. ![]() Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |

I agree Sharon...take the 'whine' out of the title. I always enjoyed your poetry about Willow.. I felt at times as though I knew her, through you. Excellent write here...may we have more please? ~Heart Hugs~ High on the rushing hill |

You are all very understanding I will say that for you, and thank you for it too. ![]() I called it a Willow whine because she had said I was not allowed to whine after she was gone or she would be mad at me. I figure reverse psychology might work and if I whine a bit and she does know, perhaps she will get mad enough to let me sleep, if only a little. She had I are locked into a Stephen King movie in the making at the moment LOL, and I just want it to let up, as I hate nightmares - especially recurring ones. |

Looks like I have some catching up to do on this one as to the story behind it but I do know that I enjoyed the piece very much. The process in which the piece unfolded as it got deeper into the read was an intriguing treat that fits perfectly from one piece to the other. A joy to read. |

Sharon That picture really backs up the words and thoughts of this piece. Intense reflections Sharon and I don't know the whole story but I certainly appreciated the read. Well done! Eric |

Well so far I have tried everything to get myself out of a recurring nightmare that I have been in for at least 2-1/2 weeks. This nightmare is set in "heaven" with a friend of mine that passed away a few years back. Each night we seem to pick up where we left off the previous night and travel about in her new world, and so my sleep has been rather erratic of late. Let me see, I have cut out "all the good stuff" before bed, done a relaxing meditation and bath, and even tried Serenity's remedies, and nothing is getting rid of this ghostly nightmare. I have decided to write it into a story to leave behind one day LOL, who knows maybe that is her message to me that heaven is not all it is cracked up to be or to write that side of it? Who knows? When in doubt, write it out they say don't they? |

I wish grieving could end at some point and one could go back to feeling whole again. Well, no I don't. But, well... you know what I mean, right? I hope tonight is better for you. Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

"I venture still into her call to unknown waters, Trusting in my inner voice, Hoping to bend like Willow when I fall Into yet another night’s sea full of sorrow." Excellent poetry.... You have the resiliency of that willow, and the ability to bring us the pictures of your thoughts...thank you for both ---------ice ><> |

Sharon "Not to be purged by any desperate grief But still kept alive at least in our loss." Yes, write of it...the nightmare...and the things that she shows you...there may be a good reason why she is doing this, and knowing the closeness that you two shared, I can't help but think it's a good one. A wonderful poem! ![]() |

Sharon, The write is exellent, But you know most dreams are taken from what we do during the day. You must be touching on something that brings her to visit. ![]() |
