Once upon a bleak November, it was then as I remember
A presidential race that shook this country to its core.
Kerry was the Democratic choice to make the 'Crats estatic
Though his conduct was erratic and he seemed a real bore
Still they chose him over Dean who screamed until his throat got sore
Screamed and yelled and little more.

Twenty years he served the Senate although he was barely in it
Seems he was too busy for that silly Senate floor.
Married wealthy women twice as patrons threw gold-plated rice
A couple million would suffice to be someone he could adore
Millions and a pedigree to be someone he could adore
Maybe that - and maybe more.

Serving time in Viet Nam our John Kerry wasn't dumb
Learned three purple hearts would get him sent back to the states.
Four short months the deed was done by enemy or his own gun
Medical attention? None. John Kerry was a man of war
A Seargent York, John Wayne and Audie Murphy man of war
All these things and so much more.

Coming home he joined a movement screaming war must have improvement
Listing all atrocities he'd seen in his short time.
Murder, rape and thievery, pillaging, debauchery
Wild men on a killing spree and he joined in this crime..
Men that he had served with he accused of all this crime
A Ghengis Khan-type pantomime.

Prisoners of war were tortured by the actions his words nurtured.
Tapes of Kerry's words were played while  soldiers screamed in pain.
Threw away in demonstration medals given by his nation
Confessed after interrogation they were not his that hit the floor
His were still at home while borrowed medals hit the floor
All a show and nothing more.

During rare times in the senate Kerry didn't waste a minute
Voting to raise taxes on the country's middle class.
Then, throughout his whole campaign, he called their treatment inhumane
Treated George Bush with disdain and said new tax cuts he would pass
For twenty years he raised them and now tax cuts he would pass..
Was John Kerry smoking grass?

Speaking of troops in Iraq he vowed to bring the soldiers back
He said there was no avenue that he would not explore.
European powers ignored those avenues that he explored
Even though that he implored and sent love letters to Chirac
Even though he kissed a bratwurst and saluted Jacque Chirac
They would never answer back.

He appealed to the voters, telling them to start their motors
Get down to the polling booths and put the Johns in power.
Every able-bodied man was told to do the best he can
Well, all except the veteran who knew him from his life before
The men he disrespected knew just what the man stood for..
Pure prestige and nothing more.

Finally the votes were counted as the tension slowly mounted
Florida was iffy and Ohio iffy more.
Scores of lawyers standing by in case the contest were a tie
As monitors cast watchful eye declaring it an honest score.
The hanging chads were gone as votes were counted by the score
Such an all-consuming chore!

America had made its choice. It rose in overwhelming voice
An echo that the world heard from the nation's mighty roar.
Kerry's flip-flops did him in and gave him little chance to win
His plan of action was too thin which made it easy to ignore.
They handed him the message they had given Albert Gore..
Quoth the voters, "Nevermore!!!"
