I put my jeans in the guitar case
wanna be suitcase
with my long sleeve t
and the cowboy hat

so they would be ready
at the other end
when some holy roller
put the ends back in

my rut and I called it home
for tattoos and silver
and some bones that had bends
where they went in wrong places

to hook up with other bones
or between some ends
where boots went under
the drape at the window

or were left outside
already headed toward the sun
if it rose on some next morning
when the iron horse had the need

to breathe the lines of a new freeway
