It is like this some days when yellow and gold-red foliage skitters cheekily across concrete, blacktop, and grass that seems to crunch beneath my feet the year was that dry when Kansa winds blow up living again in name, and spirits begin to sound their call of another time as you sneak back in for a brief moment and while I could, if I chose, decide to reflect upon the bad, I only feel the ending. I wonder, would you have paid his bill, had you realized me sent me a note across the table for a date after the decree was inked and did he watch you then, upon those courthouse steps in another state as you kissed me goodbye for the last time in the year that was dry? |
