It’s Just a Pillow

A pillow
A form in my mind
Soft and comfortable
Becalming and kind
Strange what it becomes
So warm and molding
Strange how it acts
My dreams beholding

It’s just a pillow
Only sees me at night
Doesn’t even move
But it feels so right
It’s fluff and material
A shape, nothing less
Takes a cherished dream
Only my cheek to caress

It’s just a pillow
A place for some ease
But somehow it finds me
And gives me release
Allows in my reverie
Once again you ~
It’s just a pillow
In coverlet blue

It made think of your hair upon a pillow, a sleepy golden storm - Leonard Cohen

Something I hope you feel is relevant which is tied to the pillow and memories that I feel you saw in that.

We met in a dinning room
You in a velvet dress
We met at different tables
And talked away the rest
We met on a train to Ipswich
Our eyes eating the floor
No central heating
Just everyone and nothing more

We met in a tunnel
The lights off
Just black
When we came out
There was no going back
Now, we meet in memory
Of what we didn't do
And when we met in Sheppington
We didn't know what to do
So the essence of your magic
Never escaped me at all
You just live within me
Your smile a kind of coup
And hair on my pillow
Was only basking
You

like a cloud bank white
inviting each night
the down of the goose
is fluffy and loose
I'll lay my head there
for dreams it will spare

Pillows are a very special thing...the right
one will whisk you off to dream land and the
wrong one will leave you tossing and turning,
wishing to find just that one that feeeeels
so right!
