 Picture by Jim Warren * * * On a perfect Summer's day You'll see me grace the sapphire sky High above the thermals take me Upon silken wings I fly In the quiet of the morning I ride the waves with ease In the noonday sun I glide Upon the warm gentle breeze As I search the far horizons The sun lays down to rest When nature draws her curtain That's the time that I like best I sit quietly beneath the moonlight As the stars pierce the sky And in the first light of morning Upon silken wings I'll fly * * * "Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings" I am in motion |
