Heading to China

Eyelids looking like window blinds
Thoughts keep disappearing as if they were in quicksand
Forgetting more lines then I'll ever have the chance to create
The pen drags itself across the paper
Words flowing out for no conceivable reason
The cigarette in my hand never seems to be extinguished
My shackles vanish only when the pen stains the paper
A voiceless apparition weaving through the sparkling people
Seeing deep into their souls
Knowing their emotions before they wish to share them
They yearn for one another
While I yearn for my tranquil surroundings
My essence and the sand are both eternal
Drifting from place to place
My heart died long ago
Maybe that is why when you read my words I can manipulate yours
No need to cherish luxuries
Because this life I have, has already passed
Simply put I am a ghost in a shell
With no need of a hell
For one must have a soul first
A soul I can not have
For I bare the mark of Poe

Tomorrow comes for those who fear it.
Today never ends for those who live it.

I haven't decided yet if I like writing poetry...
I just know that I have to.
So I do.
And I'm glad you do as well...
you described it quite realistically.

Always, Alyssa

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

You may write like him, but I believe everyone here, will say the same...we won't allow you to sink into this soul less place...we just won't hear of it...so cut it out...all right...smiles and hugs for a wonderful weekend ahead...
