Picture by Jim Warren

* * *

Dedicated to a fellow poet
whose words inspired me to write this

* * *

Some people come into our lives
They're like a breath of fresh air
Your words took me on a journey
Upon the page your heart lay bear

Your words came from the heart
You seemed much older than your years
As I took out another tissue
And began to dry my tears

I felt so much emotion
As I read your words in rhyme
You were the weaver of a tapestry
I saw your heart in every line

Your words took me to the ocean
Where I could feel the salty spray
I heard a seagull's mournful cry
As he flew out across the bay

I saw the window to your soul
And the depth of your despair
I felt your pain and sadness
Sometimes life can be unfair

Your words have touched so many
As you let your heart unfurl
Through my words I'd like to thank you
For sharing your talent with the world

* * *

"Some people come into our lives
and quickly go.Some people stay
for awhile and leave footprints on
our hearts so we are never the same"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you
- Shawn Mullins

Thank you all for your wonderful comments.  I think that many people can relate to this, after being deeply moved by something they have read.

Take care.........Sue
