I wish some words I had for this woman I'd call my mom but I never got to know her so the words are slim to none, but in spite all just the same I miss her so very much. I wish that I could remember her very special touch.... God took her away on a very special call when I was very young and yet so very small..... but still I felt her presence sometimes I even do now I just wish I could say I love you.... just once.........just.......somehow..... I know that she was wonderful so many times I have been told but if one memory I could recall... I'm sure it would be solid gold.... {revised and retitled 02-2005} Thanks much Kari. choose to chance the rapids, dare to dance the tides... {Garth}.... Michelle for the longest time I couldnt see what many saw until I was just a few years older than she was in this picture and I stopped at a yard sale. A lady there, never met me, but knew exactly who I was and from that day on I guess I realized when all that knew her said I was her out and out... they must have known what they were talking about. Thanks much, so appreciate your kindness. |

You could be sisters, that's for certain. It must have been difficult and confusing to not have had enough time with her. One thing we should be able to take with us is the knowledge that our children love us and that our love for them remains here. Thanks for sharing. POETS AGAINST THE WAR IS REDUNDANT |

I was only 18 months old and only knew her through a few pictures such as this and the words of others. I am now at least twice (plus some... )the age she was in this graduation photo of her. You understood this so very well Richard, thank you m'friend, I so appreciate you. |

Donna, your mother lives as long as you do, my Dear! ~ A remarkable likeness! It seems that all great poets have a well of pain from which to draw. You draw from deep waters, my friend! Hugs with love, Linda |

I understand this beauty so very well... even though I had mine longer, it wasn't nearly enough... I met a couple of my mother's half-uncles at a funeral a few years ago... they hadn't even known I existed because they'd moved and lost touch with most of the family long before I was born... but when they saw me, one's reaction was "you're Verda made over so I must be your Uncle Denny." *S* Somewhere, I have a partial poem titled "This Face I Borrowed"... but you wrote of this so perfectly that one can stay unfinished. *S* Beautiful work! |

I can certainly relate as I have no memories either of my Mother-- only photographs and your poem did bring tears to my eyes as I also lost my Mother when I was very young -- two years old... and, Yes, I do also feel her presence and long to speak to her as you do. Thank you for sharing and God bless you. -Bob |

Gentle Spirit. A wonderful tribute to your Mother. It is a remarkable likeness. I am sure if you look inside yourself you will also know your mother.I once had the same experience of someone speaking to me because she said she knew my mother and she saw her in me. My mother once had a woman come up to her with negatives of her mother( my grandmother) because she saw the resemblance. Those negatives when developed looked like they were just taken, except of course for the long dress and her hair style. Life is full of wonders. Enjoy, best marty |

Donna, dear lady, I just got tingles when I read this. I think she does "hear" it. ...jo (btw...you have a very strong resemblance to this lovely woman.) |

Gentle Spirit this piece was so touching. May I say, you will see her each time you look in the mirror. You are your mothers daughter. By the way I miss my mama terribly also. Lovely write. |

You reached out and touched me deeply with these words from deep within. I lost mine too....but I did have 21 years of life to get to know her....but I still wish there were times I could reach out and touch her or hear her voice, see her face...and just simply say "I love you Mom".... |
