I had no idea
Your cheek would feel this way on mine
Like the other half of a peach,
Totally sublime.

Just when hope was gone
You reach out, hug me, cheek to cheek
Take me dancing in Eden streets
Before the serpent smiled.

I am innocent
Beguiled, entranced, I want to dance
Those grassy grounds beyond the lake
Where love lasts eternal.

It is no mistake
We found each other in this life
And have the chance to set things right.
Bleed all the error out.

Born afresh, love’s bequest,
To remember yet forgive, love lives.
I ask you this, is there only one,
One love for evermore?

Yep.
Only One.

But you knew I'd say that.
Love reading you.
God bless...

Jo, the peach will be ever so sweet as it slowly matures and ripens!

Love is a beautiful thing and it never truly dies. It just comes around in other forms ~ in other lifetimes...

Love & Light,
Linda

you make me feel just peachy (hehe) - this is nice jo - and i think there are many compliments to the half - to make the whole -and the the capacity of the heart to embrace and love is immeasurable -

enjoyed - and hugs -  susan

jo,
One of my favorites for sure!  Is there just one love?  I think there are many types of love, but have no answer to your question if you are referring to the good old knight in shining armor question.  How can one say that one love is better than any other?  I have had a multitude of people in my life, both female and males with whom I made a special connection--of course not all romantically!  Very interesting and well written poem, Sis.  To the library...

it's really a very philosophical question, sis.  Ultimately, I believe there is only one love.....Unconditional love, but it emcompasses all kinds of forms of love.  When we learn there is only one love, then we love for real, I think.  Make any sense?  Well....anyway, that's my thinking tonight.  Love...jo

I love the biblical reference here to Eden and a time of innocence and how you expressed your feelings of being cheek to cheek as being transported in this way. I do believe it is as you have written and that Love can take you there. A very very special poem. Thank you so much for sharing. -Bob

You did a fine job of playing with this poem.

I too caught the biblical references
within....

Can there be only one love?  Hmmmmm...
