Who Says “Hip-Hop” Can’t Be Poetry?

Too much time wasted in wine
Singing in pleasant song
Living to the edge of life

Hoping for reports in strife
Rearranging…

Listening to the bells that toll
That song of living
Taking from life and not giving

Pretending that spam is filet mignon
Holding ice cubes next to Freon…

Liquid fluorinated hydrocarbons
Keeping me cool
From a hot summer day at dawn

Drinking wine
Wasting time…

Who says “Hip-Hop” can’t be poetry?
It’s all in cardiometry…
Say it with me…
