my daddy was bipolar such a beautiful madness its flight became his possession he owned it and wore it with passion allowing it to override life's conformity which he never was one to follow anyhow in its glory hed soar then disappear behind the window that would open when he had his episodes for days at time doing his wild thing i can understand why he'd stop the lithium - it balanced him so he could do things like collect tolls and inhale bad fumes on the triboro bridge and dream of flying and think of his oppressive childhood of plastic couches and little hugtime and immigrant parents that had funny names that kids would make fun of and then those immigrant parents disowned his brother for marrying a woman of another color he was good at his madness but i felt shame growing up cause i had the loco daddy but when he died i understood wouldnt you go mad when you could and then just blame it on the disease |

Hugs to you, it's an affliction I know within my own immediate family. *sigh* Thanks for sharing this, for it sure rings true. |

I'm in awe...you have depicted the realness and bitter tastes of life, in it's own person...and yet...there is empathy for his plight, the courage in you is tremendous |

You said it right, you said it true. Manic Depressive, not an easy thing to live with. You did good to come out with the empathy and love you show for him despite the hard times. best marty |

a friend of mine is bipolar, so I understand a little of what you feel...only a little because we're not really close now like we used to be...I blame that on the disease |

Given the choice of being a doped up zomboid so you can fall in step with all who consider themselves "normal" or allowing emotional, creative and/or imaginative juices to flow (even with the occasional toll of being a paranoic shut-in) I'd still prefer the former. Van Gogh would have been a forgotten hay farmer, Weldon Kees a taxi driver, Vivian Leigh a housewife and Robin Williams an annoying neighbor. Hope to hear more about father. Poets against the war is redundant |

this is beautiful. i'm always wishing i had a disease to blame, or at least a disease for the placebo of it - to hide in maddness for weeks at a time |

I can relate, Michelle. There is no true order in the world and..... "The Moment" is always upon me. Billy 8) "If at first an idea is not absurd, there is no hope for it." |
