The Broth of Time Winter snow now rounds in raw Snowflakes cover the ground and floor Cold has stripped the trees of leaves And only memory hangs the trees Each memory burns a log of flame Where spirits feed each piece of aim And there within the hearth of heat I warm my skin of hands and feet And peel the aging from my mind To walk the past of kinder kind Springs besides the babbling brook Of touching love and donnybrook I dance a dance of lovely seem Of memories true and not a dream And play once more the stage of youth Where forever the only truth While outside falls the dust of grime The acid of the broth of time |
