“Red Road-Rage Automobile” © 2005 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved A new day dawns, with the sound of my alarm clock. Coffee’s brewing, I’m almost dressed and set to rock. But then I look, at the car and turn to the sky. “Hey! Ye Ol’ God? Please be so kind to explain why! I’m riding in a box, looking like Mr. Bean. From home to work and back, without making a scene. Because I can’t effort… My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” With smooth leather interior, little devil under the hood My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” Got rims with the soul of country, she roars by the press of my foot. She’s a wow factor on four wheels. My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” It’s running but, the engine sounds like a dead duck. I can barely, carpool alone cause I get stuck. The front window, fogs up each time I take a breath. It’s slower than, a person in cardiac rest. I am a cocktail of, pure benzene hopes and dreams. She is all I’ve wanted, from when I turned sixteen… But my pay check can’t reach… My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” With smooth leather interior, little devil under the hood My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” Got rims with the soul of country, she roars by the press of my foot. She’s a wow factor on four wheels. My “Red Road-Rage Automobile” The clock rings yet again, another morn repeats. Until I turn towards, my parked car in the drive. The micro-van is gone, or mutated a bit. And right in front of me, there she is my dream ride. mine is a mud grey Pathfinder...with bronchitis cough every AM, a whining tranny ...and country road rock and mud tunes slinging from the rear tires LOL, enjoyed reading you today |
