(Dear Thoughts of Her)

In miles,
   so very
     far away,

but in my heart
   I hold her close

in dear thoughts
   of her
    and
Ha
   Long
        Bay.

It sounds like thoughts I had in Singapore back in the 60s.

Then was then I suppose, and now is now.

I wouldn't have come back but the Navy didn't really give you a chance to decide, and then you are back in Western culture and no-one wants to know.

It was also "still and still is racist" in the UK and I was better accepted by her people, than she would have been accepted by my people, country or Government.
