my own little world

Seems like every time you fall
standing up means strength.
Every time you run away
running back is a battle won.

Seems as though things are better,
after they've been their worst.
Yet you think as though this weathering tide,
will knock you down.

Every time it returns,
it comes a little harder,
a little faster.
When the last wave begins to roll,
the one that would have killed you long ago
you ask;
"will I still be here?"

Day after day,
you get up once more,
fall down once more.

Each day
your expression seemingly different,
changing, fluid,
as though each day
you become the water,
your pain

Tomorrow
you will be complete
Tomorrow
become the flowing struggle
washed away into the distance
and return so amazing
so enduring
that you will change the world
by showing them how,

how to face the tides.

How can I stand here and not be moved by you? - Lifehouse

Oh my,
this brought me to tears.
Maybe I'm just emotional today,
but I think it's because of your wonderful words.
I'm going to keep this in my library...
Thank you for this.

Always, Alyssa

Yes.  's what I needed to read.  My mom woke me up this morning with a few complaints and I've been feeling awkard, so when I read this it made me feel better.  So thank you.  Being friends over the net is kinda cool, but at the same time it would be great if it were in person.  Cause you rock (which is actually a pun when you think about the fact that I spent three hours staring at a rock and taking notes, lol).

so uplifting, River.

Y'know, I often have contemplated exactly what causes one to finally fall.  I mean, sheesh you get kicked in the dirt so many times, get up, dust yourself off and keep right on going.  I adored this.
