Listening to every heart

In radiant dance,
her spinning of a rainbow
down to buckets of gold
doesn’t surprise me

I swear, she talks
to leaves
just to hear them giggle
in childlike wonder

as flowers unfurl
just to see if she is following
their evolution

she is eagerness of small fingers
in stare of them to curl
around her own

she is a bear hug in hold
of silvery filaments and other affairs

a motion of poet is in her step
and her smile

is the cradle at the foot of the mountain,
a hammock of life
that swings song into mystery

as one cascades deep into dark eyes
hearing her mouth the sound of
friend

knowing it is you
she speaks to…

but for all of this
and more
I cherish her, because I know
she values me

she is poet, she is friend
she is Martie in ever-bend…

can I ditto suthern? *very knowing nod* she just loves it when I do....

really pretty.....to be seen this way by another and especially by a poet that can write someone to be this enchanting...well this speaks volumes of you both

Everything is here in this poem that I admire most, and is valuable to me....beauty, grace and truth..

Call me dreamer, but I have strong feelings that it is poems like this, about people like the subject, by poets like the poet, that will allow the human race to survive.
