I don’t need to borrow your wheelbarrow.
The one you importune to put in my way.

Not just its poor condition you can’t see;
a languid wheel misguides a stray direction,
furrows where perhaps it once had raced.

Rust branded bucket whose burrows seep
reason, purpose, too long hauled ashes
from smothered smolderings in wasted time.

The bent legs kneel out of old habit now
and over-handled shafts splay easily,
etched by countless costermonger’s runs

I’d have carried on skirting this narrow
passage, even kept a kitschy clement smirk
that cursory notice would see as smile

but for taunts of “man enough” and “fear.”

I’ve moved mountains in my time going nowhere,
left many sturdier implements broken in my wake.

Whatever else I’ll need moved will move to me

Poets against the war is redundant

darlin...we've all been there and done that...and so...be better for it...never looking back, but gliding on the fingers of compassion, is truly what makes you His son....

Your writings are magnificant.

I enjoyed wheeling around in the wordplay and imagery. I especially liked that ending.

Dear man, sometimes you write it just the way I feel it, felt it, and at times should have felt it.

"Whatever else I’ll need moved will move to me"

Much are the same as my own sentiments lately Richard.  Again, you have written an outstanding piece.

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

left many sturdier implements broken in my wake.

Whatever else I’ll need moved will move to me

Man has all he needs on his person, but then you knew that right   I liked this Richard, and you sure don't need any wheelbarrow that's for sure.

I found this interesting - excellent imagery-filled with defiance - good parry and thrust

Some poets...write lightheartedly...some despondently...and some, thoroughly...

and some poems are meant to be enjoyed,
while others are studied...

because they go deeper than most.

Sometimes I make a very good student.
