Boulder of lonely

Teeters on the mountain's edge

I hold it, alone

Wind of friendship blows
wrapping in warm heart embrace
helps to ease the load

It is a heavy load to hold on your own - I understand and feel this - sometimes warm words from friends help lift a bit of the weight from our shoulders

Hugs - Susan

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

More each time, each moment of each time....especially when it's fresh.

Yep, lonely has way too long of a shelf life.

Good write, James_A~

If I were to read thousands of poems today, I don't think I could possibly find one more touching... I feel this one so... yes.

Absolutely excellent!

screaming canyon
avalanche of whispers
silence killed her

till you will see me again and live in me.
Till then my windows ache"

well, come, sit beside me for a moment....lets share a picnic lunch, talk, and even out that teeter to a level of cities yet to be built

Hugs....

If only, we could let it go..."lonely"

Nicely done.
