Melancholy Ache

Drops of melancholy
silently fall from
emerald eyes
crystallized
  in tears from blue
sullen and forlorn
as mask holds
  the unveiling of truth,.

Melancholy is
  a heart ache
   of love misplaced
harbored in yesterday;
vanished without
   nary a trace
held in a    longing for
what once    had been
to someday return
to her heart     again.

(my thanks to Kari for framing
the photo and allowing me some
storage space.  Hugs)

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

"She never let it show
from the outside looking in
nobody could have known
she didnt cry
she didnt shout
I was blind but I see now
she was breaking from the inside out."

{sung by Tracy Lawrence}

Beautiful work, m'friend, on both
the art, and the thought from which
it came...

it was always there, wasn't it...
the poem in the picture.

thanks everyone so much.  You are all to sweet.  Yes Kari, I did this picture a few years ago and always felt it had something to say.  I guess my muse finally figured out what that was....lol.
Thank you for giving me the chance to post it here.  Hugs

Howevever fleeting love is,
at least it was, or felt that way.

You write the ache beautifully, Donna~

This is stunning... both for its beauty... and for its truth. Both words and painting are fantastic, my friend... this touching presentation is art at its best. *S*

Suthern gal, you have no idea how much that means to me.  I think that love and the ache of love is pretty much a universal language!  Hugs to you and much thanks.
