A Women Watches She stood upon the hill Her life strode before her She was pretty as a song And this is now her bill She smiled at all she saw And quietly thought and won She had no malice in her heart She loved it all in fun She saw the hardship, saw the spite She saw the beauty too She breathed the air of freedom But still it felt askew She saw a man She saw a love She saw the pain that came It wasn't brutal what occurred Just things were not the same She went to love another He loved another too She wanted him for her own He wanted her for glue His family he wanted to keep A women carefully chosen Someone to live a family life Many are called, not frozen Her mind is wide Her work is hard Her heart is wide and deep She never mind’s the upward climb Though some feel it too steep And so a loving women watches While the world sleeps Bewitched by her sunset Dreaming of her dreams Hoping her life will come Not tearing at the seams She want’s her vision She want’s her world She want’s her life And the pleasure’s of being a girl Just to be the pleasure Not someone's little pearl |

I should say that I used plural of woman deliberately on this. Yes it is wrong but it seemed right when I wrote it. dave |

I like it better the way it is Dave. Gives it a nice subtle twist. |

Thanks Time and Marsha I will be taking a break from writing now. I've written too much and I need to concentrate on other things. Thanks for your words. Dave |

Romantic Thanks for the compliment but I am stopping. I need to. I'm not even looking at all the stuff I've written and I will work through that over years. A part of my life was writing poetry. Over a period of 15 years I managed to spend 5 actually at home. I worked for 8 years virtually non-stop. 3 bouts of food poisoning and I hit 50 in IT when people try to pretend you dont exist and I enjoyed the pleasure of just standing leaning against a wall while the winds of Cirencester gave me decent air. I've hit a point now I've written probably non-stop for over 6 years. What was fluid and flowed by itself now has to be wrenched. A Woman Watches was written about a specific woman but when AOL has a coffee poetry section and the Scroll and Passions were virtually ideas. I need to get back to a life and that does require in IT that I commit completely especially at 56. Thanks Dave |
