(Here's a re-post of a song I wrote a year and a half ago, which I began writing after my heart was broken from a spoiled star-crossed love!

For those curious of knowing the direction of my music, I am going power pop, power pop in the likes of Jellyfish, The Posies, B-52's, Puffy AmiYumi, etc. and this is one of the ballads, which is sad but very melodic and beautiful to those who've heard it.)

Crown Of Ariadne
By: Noah Eaton
6/26/03

She left too soon
Deep into the background
Of a garrisoned sea
We used to divide and conquer together...

I slid the Minotaur for you
Before you slit my throat
With Minerva's little diatribe
With these surrogate confessions
God knows who could hear...

Here in this black hole dream of Talus
Not even a ball of thread could help me escape
This indelible mousetrap of emotion
That I stubbornly tranced askance into...

So I threw your crown into the heavens
I created the stars just for you
And I can't promise anything
But I can assure you my love for you will remain true
And somewhere beneath the ivory forehead
And the unmerciful siren song that deafens me...
I know I've set you free
Baby, baby, baby, you are free...

I must confess I heard it all through the seagulls
How could I know exactly what they meant?
I wanted to apologize for sounding a bit ungrateful
Though I knew you never had the intent...

Times like these I feel like Icarus
Trying to rob the heavens in defying gravity
Thinking I could have it all
Lest that I come running on empty
Unselfishly,
I embraced the sun so I could prove
That I am only human
Flying through the air in my hit and run with etymology
Swallowing the sea of my impulsions

God knows Pallas could turn me into a bird
If I just stopped for one second
And know I can never win...

So I threw your crown into the heavens
I created the stars just for you
And I can't promise anything
But I can assure you my love for you will remain true
And somewhere beneath the ivory forehead
And the unmerciful siren song that deafens me...
I know I've set you free
Baby, baby, baby, you are free...

Let go of me gently
You are free
Let go of me gently
You are free
let go of me gently
You are free...

Last January you were still marigold
You know the seasons will never lie
But I'm just a valetudinarian wasted on the alpenglow
Of forty-thousand twilights...

Yet the butterflies, the miller moths
Oh, resting in pieces can be iatrogenic
Even if that is not what falling means
I still can hear the incidental music
And isn't it refreshing
To know your fate is being lamented
Then it all becomes evident
That some higher light is watching over you?

You know as I let go I'll be crying
You know that I'll be breaking
But you know that I'll remember
Being thankful for the better person you made me...

So I threw your crown into the heavens
I created the stars just for you
And I can't promise anything
But I can assure you my love for you will remain true
And somewhere beneath the ivory forehead
And the unmerciful siren song that deafens me...
I know I've set you free
Baby, baby, baby, you are free...
.
.
.
.
La la la, la la la,
la la la, la la la,
la la la, la la la,
la la la, la la la...
.
.
.

"You'll find something that's enough to keep you
But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20

Sounds interesting.
But I don’t know the groups or singers you mentioned.
Would like to hear this with your music.
