Even though you feel a message can be wiped from a wall Or hidden By subterfuge An eye watches A mind recalls And time Achieves It's aim Amongst the cries And does not forget Yet we do not use it for personal gain Or attack those For colour, race, creed, religion For when we do We play their games And revenge is also And eye for eye And also Revenge is mine sayeth the Lord On a wall somewhere someone will make a sign Maybe it will takes us centuries To know of that sign And more centuries To know of the language And more centuries To understand the words And more centuries To understand the though Someone in a University in 500 years Will tell us Of what was lost Dave |

Hindsight is always 20-20, huh? Such seems to be the case within this poem. Thanx Dave. |

Too true, Dave. We can lose it all, before being aware of it. |

this reminded me of the years and years of conditioning mankind has undergone....in observing cultures, when you think about it...all throughout time...we've been told what to approve and what not to approve, what to believe and what not to believe or what will make us successful, or not. Outstanding poem and as always a pleasure to read your thoughts...thank you |
