Threshold

barrier, fortress
passage–
from past
to new beginnings
tenuous, weighty
vital, peripheral

within–known
beyond–alien
inside, safe
outside, perilous

the groom lifts his bride
carries her across the divide
leaving separateness behind
inviting unity of purpose
aim, notion
a new creation
for blooming, growing,
becoming

complementing strengths
weaknesses
ripening in substance
on one side
facing the other, formidably,
together
