Without Light

The light was gone the sun is down
My face is long and set a frown
I strained my eyes to pierce the stark
But all I see are shadows dark

My footsteps in the night are bold
And each one cries aloud behold
Its here I falter echoes cry
The night is where the pitfalls lie

And courage comes in lap and wave
It prods me and the meaning brave
Yet still I grope within the dark
To listen for the meadowlark

To find that firefly of light
That moment of a perfect sight
The one that stays the record book
To make the mind to overlook

What deity that stays a throne
Would leave me in the dark alone

Morning Sy, you weave words like emotions
taking us to your winter place at times

feeling every word

Big hugs

The same one, Sir...
that gives us no more
than we can bear.

It's a riddle..right?...and the answer is the toilet....right?...finding the toilet at midnight in a house with no electricity from one of those Southern Florida storms....right?.....right?

Me sweet Sy-babers...you cant ever be in the dark...for you are the flame...
and upon these moth wings is singed your name.

perhaps there is one of elegant mind,
who has no need to intrude on the solitude of single things.

Hang on, sweetie... I'll send candles... and matches. *G*

I liked this very much... both the obvious... and the greater question that lies beneath. *S*

Sometimes he lets us walk...thinking we are
alone...yet,  we never really are...even when
we stumble and fall.

Thanx Sy.
