Bare-naked Poet

Snow lay drifted against the house
While winter’s winds bluster and blow
Unmindful of the nature outside
He basks in the monitor’s glow

Windows shielded from reality
By posters of tropical scenes
Bookshelves lined with well-loved tomes
And beef stew and pork and beans.

Writing through Mother Nature’s wrath
The poet, bare naked and alone
Disconnected from everyday life
No TV, no radio, no phone.

Simple solitude is his lover
Poetry his sustenance
Defiance shown to accepted norm
Living his independence

So should you seek to find him
No answer will come to your knock
Alone and content, bare-naked he sits
Tending his poetic flock.

Very visual.....could see the seen.  The very picture of where we go when our best is written, I think!

Actually what a timely re-posting.  There are so many shut off from more than immediate connections with loved ones, friends, family, and reminding people to write in moments of being al Oh, one is as Martha says, "A very good thing!"     Oh, and yes, the scene was staged beautifully as is it in  all your poems.
