Flight In Pink

how could one as me believe such things
to dream in red and watch it fade to pink
grand illusiveness flies on breath
with wings from place to place
and lands so close but just out of reach
the pain that splits my heart cries alone
to darkness where no one hears my voice
leaving me again waiting to find
when my sleep and waking time
finally meet melted to join as one

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

Well done Helen!

"Now what is love? I pray thee tell.
It is that fountain and that well,
Where pleasure and repentance dwell.
It is perhaps that sauncing bell,
That tolls all in heaven or hell:
And this is love, as I hear tell."
          -Sir Walter Ralegh

Blood's a lighter shade on the surface and mortal wounds flow dark. There is still hope in the colors here and the very fact that there are still dreams.

Seemed easier when young to crudely net this fragile elusive while age takes more careful swipes in order to avoid its injury (or maybe its capture). But that may be the difference between men and women. Enjoyed the line breaks.

Poets against the war is redundant
