Those Words Sometimes they lingered at the tips of my fingers, just beyond my grasp, teasing – then away they’d fly to bounce off a wall, hang on a fence, slap against someone else’s back, but always they’d circle round, come back, touch my cheek, hang on my shoulder, lay gently in my hand – then wisk away. . . before I could hold them tight. Those words. Oh God, those words of yours that turned my nights to light, my heart to running wild, my soul to shining bright – those words. . . those words you took away, with which you tease my fingertips, those words – those tattered, shredded words I’ll never hear again. Those words – the dying breath of those words. Those words. . . Those Words. ©w. james beard, jr. january 2005 |

I like this a lot - and it can be interpreted in several ways - a bit of it makes me think of when I'm stretching for a word and it's almost there and then - zip, gone - the other makes me think of words we long to hear from a loved one we shall not hear again- Enjoyed this - Susan If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . . |

So very glad to read you here again J- Hasn't been the same without you. This write seemed inspired by recent losses...you wrote the emotion fully and gently. Hugs, TD |
