Silence stills the air
   (as it steals my thoughts)
~stone cold~
~dead~
and for whatever it is worth?
(not much, some would say)

I cannot fathom
the depths of what has happened
and yet I look
at the scene in all its horror.

Still, to say it was God’s will?
only makes me want to reject
whatever God you say
   willed such

an ungodly deed.

Takes guts to approach the religion subject. Earth tires of our abuse and can be expected to react violently until we respect her again or she sheds herself of us.

Science is in the process of proving that the global warming that certain leaders dare ignore (a philosophy so like man started with Adam 5,500 or so years ago or we all won't be saved until we are all destroyed, one of dangerous ignorance) the changing weather patterns and seasons, el nino and the massive force that waves exert on land which cause more problems with underlying faults are all results of allowing things to remain the same.

Thank you, Nancy. Guess I'm getting a bit burned out hearing people say "It's God's will."

I say, "To Hell with that!".

Kacy,  when we see such as we have seen,  it
is only natural to feel as many do.  We can
only hope they can recover and that what has
been given is used wisely for them.

those that suffer.

Mish, I almost never look to humans for answers any more.
I look at Nature, see what is, and move forward (I think) accordingly.
And I always keep an eye on humans, for I can't help but believe, we have done Mother Nature dirty.
Boomerangs are real.
"The earth is still ringing.."

The earth is still vibrating from the earthquake off Indonesia that triggered the tsunami, researchers from the Australian National University said. The reverberations were similar to the ringing of a bell, though without the sound, and were picked up by gravity-monitoring instruments.

I no longer believe in reasons why, -- things are - and the only control I see is how we react to what we cannot control - to rise above tragedy and seek the divine within ourselves by giving to others that which we have -

makes one want to be certain to hug their loved ones often and to live to their best

Thank you, Susan, for sharing your thoughts.
Yes, love the ones(s) you're with, and offer whatever help is within your realm of possibility.
We can do nothing more.
Or can we?
Can we really go beyond ourselves?

I know how you feel, Kacy...it seems all we can do is make sure when something of this magnitude happens we help in any way we can and show that we care very much what happens to this planet and those who inhabit it...I too heard about the ringing of the bell...maybe in all the pain good will come of it...I think many have finally found the heart they never knew was there...*big hugs* thank you for this impassioned write...

Thank you hugs to you, Karen. I've come to believe that your heart is always generous and kind, and willing to walk the extra mile for the good of all.

Kacy
I am very moved by this, it hit me right in the "solar plexus" this morning...

A rude awakening in a way, but I know your intention was to make me think...and that it is an exposition of your soul, as all good poems are...

And it inspired me, to write, perhaps a piece that might ruffle some feathers...

"an ungodly deed." indeed, thank God for that...

Kacy...Hi and Good Morning...darlin...I don't think or believe things as such are God's Will...but more so, simply, nature and her moods....

Like when my girlfriend was dieing of cancer, she told me, this isn't of God, Lee J. and I believe that...

Kacy, here's another thought...what if there were a slight chance, that all pollution, in the air, circling around the planets....are causing some of these weather patterns, or how bout an even simplier idea....cycles of weather patterns.....?????

I know it doesn't take the pain away nor fill the arms of childless parents...nor parentless children...it's devastating...tragic and very painful

Love and hugs to you

Each one of you has given me a slightly different view of life, both as a reply, and within your own writings, and I am grateful for the diversity within this home.
