Standing In Silence...

She swallowed the lump in her throat,
And bit back the tears,
That threatened to escape.
Now is not the time.

She’s so overwhelmed,
By her love for him,
Her need for him.
By the pain of this separation,
No matter how short the time.

His grief is her grief.
And when he cries,
She’d give the world,
To stop the flow.

Their souls are joined,
Together for eternity,
Two halves of a whole,
Belonging to only each other,
Despite the distance between them.

Before she had him,
She felt as though she had nothing,
And now she has the world,
Because he’s there,
And he’s full of love,
That’s only for her.

And as much as he saved her,
She saved him as well,
From drowning in lonely misery,
From dwelling to much in the past.
Now his life is complete,
With her in his arms,
And his mind and heart at ease.
