Splayed fingers of a hand
dig into other minds
searching for, extracting,
individual blueprints
for the building of a dream.

Too scared to cup around a breast
and fondle all the curves
on the other side of fantasy
hands carve a sculpture of desire
and implant a different view
on grey and lifeless screens
of the seemingly naïve.

The moon of yesteryear
shines down insightful smiles
at the knowing of it all
and the eyes of sky once blue
no longer pierce the gloom
like spotlights in the realm of soul
highlight the path to love.

But no moon shines tonight
nor will it ere be bright
when the setting sun
static in the hands of time
remains suspended in the sky
unable to bed down.

And sad and lonely stars
behind the veil of time
spasmodic twinkles of
insignificance.

Such is sky when love denied
and hands dig into minds
to complete the collage
and mirage
of what could one day be
a meaningful existence.

And the building of a dream
proceeds according to a need
but always when a glass of wine
lifts unaided up to lips
the hands are free and clear
to dig where ere they will!

Love that verse, and the contents within the mixed bag!

Your writing grabs me every time Helen, and I thank you for sharing your gifts.

Thank you dear Bluesy gal for always being so supportive.  Yes, this is indeed a "mixed Bag" and perhaps one that I'm not too happy to call my own but sometimes, just sometimes, a volcano erupts.
