This is a poem I wrote for Michael this summer. His friendship meant and means so much to me! When you know someone since you were 12...they pretty much become a real part of your life. And although he and I didn't stay in touch throughout the years...I am so greatful I didn't miss his last journey...to get to know the real Michael! He was more 'beautiful' than I ever realized as a child. A real 'angel' that graced my life...and I am SO honored that God gave me the opportunity to have his soul touch mine!
Anyway...here is the poem...ENJOY!

Why I Love You....

Michael Auguste, you once asked me
“what makes you love me so”?
There’s just so many things to say,
but I’ll try so here I go.

The biggest thing I love of you
is very much your heart.
And the way you see me
as a precious piece of "art".

With that heart you speak of Chris,
and how you love him so…
of him you talk of memories
and your soul begins to glow.

Then, there’s your compassion
and the way you feel our pain.
I look at you and see the tears
that fall like gentle rain.

Not for you those tears do fall,
but for all you leave behind.
That only makes me love you more
and bind your heart to mine.

To me I feel it’s very sad
that there aren’t more of you.
The world would be a better place
and we all could start anew.

Yes, I believe He broke the mold
when He made your heart.
Although, I’ll hate to see it go,
I’m glad I was a part.

For a part of it I’ll be
until my very end.
When God decides to take me home
to see my true best friend.

Well I must say, you got my waterworks working very quickly as I read your beautiful and loving poem about our beloved Michael.

You were blessed to have known him as well as you did. I am sure he is smiling down from heaven at this display of devotion, love, and respect.
