Ever Closer to Death An unlit candle’s wax fraught for warmth… As day moves into its night’s illusion… Lifeless in time it awaits its lighted wick… Aflame once again, nestled beneath a bright yellow flickering of heat… Beckoning to live by means of gleaming yellow-illumined tongue and wick… Alive with harrowing heat yet glowing as it seems eternal… Melting away its living with every flickering glimmering… And, in the slightest, bruising the elements it must barrow To strive… Unlit - alive, yet dead to its life… Lit and brightly burning: alive, yet drawing nearer, and nearer, ever closer to death… |

If we don't burn with some kind of passion, we will never know how brightly we might glow, in order to give light that others might see... |

this JL, was absolutely beautiful and is a reminder to everyone that the whole of life, is not about what we take, but what we contribute...and death to me, is not ugly or sad, but one step beyond what we know now... Truly magnificant write my friend. |

JL What a suberb metaphor! I agree with LeeJ about death though....in fact, there is a brighter light there. |
