Does the smell of burning food
Tell you your sensers are working
Does the wrong pan on the wrong heat
Tell you deliberation

Does I can get away with it
Move more than
The local police
To frenzy

Or a tantrum
Stupid
Aimed to produce a reaction
To repeat

To an old Aunt
When you
Are caught
Dead to rights

This is a sad poem
in the loss of so
many things;
age steals from us
so inconspicuously
that only those
who love us well,
deny our demise...

or point to our
fallacies...

I hope that those
who love me well,
take my aging
in stride...

I think you tried,
but had to call some shots
and say,
see, this is how
it is.

Not an easy job, ever.

Yes, sir, your poem found a heart.

You found more is this than I thought.

There were thoughts of my mother, but also my wife's friend of years, who lost her husband, had a bad fall and found the Social Security having her demonstrate she cook something and remember to turn the gas on, fire it, and turn it off when finished.

I am a bit early for this kind of condition, but I am still reading the manuals.

thanks

I like this one Dave.
It makes the mind think.

:-)

Within this heart you'll find love
