I hear scratching noises upon the wall outside my window and I jump, thinking it might be my Yesterday coming back to demand I take a different highway, like a ghost or a flute dancer carving its initials on my heart of stone. No, no, no...I don’t want to walk this pathway, alone. Be gone, I say, leave me be, I am comfortable in my misery. And I lie to myself as I lie by myself staring at the cold white ceiling. Damn you, why did you leave, why did you fly away? Putting on my boots to trudge through knee-deep snow does nothing to settle these thoughts back into a comfort zone. And you know, I’ve wanted to stay mad at you, curse you for that day. Yet for years I couldn’t even whisper your name, much less curse you out loud. Sometimes when I visit the ocean I see you in the waves. Green laughing foam dancing atop curls and curves of watery fun. Your eyes were green. Oh, how we did run the beaches, play in the tide pools, climb the rocks seeking special starfish. I gave them names, like Captain and First Mate, Clingy, Pincushion, Loving Arms, and Too-Many-Feet. Laughing, you held me close, whispered sweet salty magic words that still ring in my ears. Then, you flew away. |

OhKacy~ This definitely "hits me in the solar plexus"~ The hurt is conveyed so poignantly- And you know, I’ve wanted to stay mad at you, curse you for that day. Yet for years I couldn’t even whisper your name, much less curse you out loud.' And then, too, the memories ... so tender- 'Sometimes when I visit the ocean I see you in the waves. Laughing, you held me close, whispered sweet salty magic words that still ring in my ears.' This is an excellent heart-pour~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

There is so much love in this piece, Kacy. I think "solar plexus" might be replaced by "knocks me down". This has to be one of my favorites of yours! Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Ken, thank you, wow, now one of your faves? That scratching noise was a branch scraping the wall in the wind. I prefer the tinkling sound of windchimes, though I love flute music, and would not mind watching a kokopeli dance. And that's another story. |

Bluesygal, so nice to have a visit from you! How are you? Thanks for reading and replying to this, which is a very personal write. Sometimes, it's best to set the memories loose. |

Ouch! It's a nice ride, but watch out for that cactus just as you're gettin' off..... You set this little word-trap beautifully....and sprang it so mercilessly! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
