Passing Out-Coming In There’ll be nothing more from two-thousand-four save the memories and the bills. No more pain and strife will enter each life no more of aught-four ills. It’s two-thousand-five we are alive and who cares if it rains. The birds in the trees are resting their knees and singing their sweet refrains. The Rose Parade’s done the game’s not yet won and dinner is cooking away. We’ll gather with friends and say our “Amens” while spending the day at play. For labor will come to those blessed more than some our aims and our goals will take form. We’ll plant in each mind something special and kind and seek them to become the norm. So delight in this new year shake hands and give cheer there’s promises ahead for each one. One day at a time giving reason a rhyme until this new year is done. ©January 1, 2005 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
