Your ship has slipped its moorings
Just as you knew she could
Sailing on now with our darling
As we all knew you should;

And somewhere in the slip-streamed air
You are sailing the bluest seas
Your body whole, beyond compare
And it’s all you knew it would be.

We hear your voice upon ocean’s calm
Glance again at your words;
For they now give us unending balm,
Shaking our heads at the absurd.

The sea birds know, and glide toward light,
For what is to fear, when with Him?
They leave a feather, I hold it tight,
For He holds now, another tear’s gem.
