Here--if list be poetry
the contents--a phrontistery--
the stuff that has no where to be,
stuff I need...apparently.

There are several dried out pens--
a phone cord without prong for "in"--
empty matchbook kept--adored--
I had a good time at that bar.

Birthday candles, lit but once,
and batteries without an ounce
of pump of juice to make ya jump--
try it--stick it on yer tongue.

Decks of cards (none of them full)
blue thread ragged on a spool
my doggy's collar (doggy died)
I couldn't throw it out--I tried.

Copper pennies, pricking tacks,
so much plentiful of lack...
business cards and what-is-this?
Who's girlish hand signed with a kiss?

Oh. I blush. That was for me.
That one is sweet Tiffany.
Tablets to dye Easter eggs--
loose ends of the plans we made...

Pictures of our friends in dust.
Really. I am embarrassed.
I'll wipe them off for album's trust.
And what is this? Is this bread crust?

Fuses (we've a breaker box)
and oh-how-sweet a baby sock!
Warranties and keys for locks
to keep things safe we long forgot.

As I dig, remember more,
forgetting what I came here for...
I think that life is just like this.
A drawerful of love, misfit.

Oh, I can relate ...
especially to

my doggy's collar (doggy died)
I couldn't throw it out--I tried.

Just a few days ago I caressed that red collar of my former cat Mizar (when we travelled) and thought I would really never use it again (my present cat is too wild for any collar!), but I was not able to throw it away.

Thank you for this greatly enjoyable piece of reality.

Love, Margherita

Yep,
I think so too.

Love it.

This is wonderful - I love looking through old things that others would consider junk but to me are dear sweet memories - Mom and I used to go through her "hopeless" chest as she jokingly called it and visit all the stories of her life - those were some of the best times -
