On being over-whelmed it hurts the dust to ashes, make it curt. The one, the only's passed away, yet I remember other days. Of kites, and fishing poles, and streams. Of Father, son, and real dreams, made more the real by this fact, that time for us did not distract. I cry, yet knowing it's for best, my father has been laid to rest and so where once were fathered five his memory will stay alive. The five may not at times agree, their bridges burned, hap-hazardly, The Mother, long since gone to rest, instilled in us to do our best. The mother-less, the father-less, who're left to deal with all this mess, yet all remember well it seems, the kites, the fishing poles, and dreams. The water's still, the sky is fair we feel a presence in the air of scattered ashes, time in freeze, and thoughts as this upon the breeze. |
