This one is for E A too, And, of course, everybody else as well. Dream About the Moon 1: One night, I had a dream about the Moon. In my dream it is dawn. I am outside, sitting on a bench. I can still hear the crickets, And there is a cool, refreshing breeze. The Moon is full. I know the Moon is full, Because I hold it in my hands. It feels sort of like a beach ball, Cool to the touch, soft yet firm, Unblemished, big and round, Nothing like the pitted crater hemisphere That one can see from the Earth. 2: We say the Moon is full When, in fact, It is just the sunlit half That faces us. And when we say the Moon is half, It's only half of that one half we see.; That is, the half is really just a quarter. 3: I hold the full Moon in my arms, Run my fingers all around it, Wondering Of what precious starry stuff It could be made, When all at once, It sets, My arms suddenly empty. The Moon is gone. SC I forgot the cow jumped over it. Had I rememberd that, I wouldn't have touched it. |
