Sometimes the news can be overwhelming sad towards the end of the year. So I like to bring some reflection to PiP...some contemplative poetry that gives meaning to the past year. A poem that puts all things into perspective....here is that repost...

Oh dear, oh my, you will never believe it!
My face is grotesque! I have a huge zit.
Right there on my jaw for all to see
it’s as big as my face, quite literally!

Tonight at dinner I turned my head
and smacked a guy who almost fled!
His glasses went flying, he nearly choked
I thought I’d get killed, or at least get poked!

Though I try really hard to squeeze out a pop
I can’t get that thing to let loose of one drop!
I’ve even tried using my Ginzu knife!
Maybe it’s there for the rest of my life.

I’ll buy it a wig and draw on a face
and proudly display it every place.
Just think of it this way, I’m never alone
I’ll have in my zit, a chaperone!

I thought perhaps a smile would be in order. There is a lot of sadness in the world this year and I hope that a small smile would lift your spirits. The original post of this poem is in Open 1 and there are some spirited poetic pimple replies. Happy New Year!

You made me look! And I'm so glad I did!

(and the stroll through your archives was just as much fun, too)

But I thought everybody might enjoy the link, and who knows, zit might provide some inspiration.

PdV,
This assures me now more than before that you are insane. Hilarious, but insane. This was funny. Thanks for the great read and Happy Holidays to you!

ROFL - this was so unexpected and had me audibly laughing - thanks for the smile and all those happy little endorphines that went dancing through my brain with the chuckle-

Happy New Year - and may many a smile bless it
