I Wish I Were Your Superman

I wish I were your Superman,
Your citadel…aye no less than,
Thy cornerstone of happiness,
Mayhap the locks thought would caress.

I wish to feel the press of lips,
While walking about an ellipse,
For softer than dew upon down,
Is thy kiss in which I would drown!

I wish ere we open our eyes,
To say a prayer that would give rise,
To an eternity of love,
The dream none have dreamt the likes of.

I wish to tell thee how I feel,
For my heart love I’d not conceal,
But quoth the raven. “Nevermore,
Lad, saddle the sweep of the oar.”

Unspoken the heart must remain,
Indifference is so hard to feign.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

I know Dixie...not the ending I would have penned had I a choice either. But this poem is sort of a confession about how I feel for someone. Alas though she remains oblivious of my true feelings...and te coward in me can not bridge the divide between wanting and having. (Besides...it is complicated...and unfair of me to tell her these things.)

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Very sweet Kevin.
Watch out for the secrets you hold
for you know the one I hold.

confession is good for the soul, so they say. i wouldn't know i keep mine to myself.
the poem is heart touching & in my opinion, should be shared.

by each let this be heard,
some do it with a bitter look,
some with a flattering word"

Ah, I understand this - indifference is hard to feign - and secrets of the heart - 'tis hard to be human and to love - for it is not always perfect nor is it always easy -

You pen your heart so beautifully - and I would say, unless given to unsurmountable barriers, bare your heart to her - for 'tis a great heart -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Enjoyed the read, and began to think that maybe you are her Superman, but dressed as Clark Kent?

I would rather my words fall upon deaf ears than a closed mind...

indifference....would be difficult with emotions such as this lying beneath the surface! Nicely done. *S*
