She tried to fill an empty vase
but it refused to accept what was offered.

Sometimes the hole in the vessel
is just too big or deep, and no amount of weep
can re-fill it to the well-spill point

Dry days ahead, no refreshing rain in sight.
She steps out into the cold blue night,
wringing in rejection the too-dry hands.

Once she knew the fountain of fullness,
the overflow of anger and joy in a premium blend,
splashed with the flavor of anticipation and hope.

Now, the air breathes itself in a dry chill
filled with too-much sorrow, too-much pain.
No sign of refreshing rain on the horizon.

Yet today’s clouds appear
to carry a message.

Such a great blend of words, dear Kacy.

I was watching out for you today and here you are.

There is a message always if we listen well.

Sending love and hugs.

Ah sheesh Kacy, a very poignant, and sad write.  I will add you to my thoughts and "wish you a job" and a better new year starting right now, and hope it works.  Seems I have shocked him and he is beginning to listen to me so don't be surprised if it happens early.

Much love to both you and Sarah, and remember the greatest gift this time of year is love, and you both have enough to fill a canyon!

"the air breathes itself in a dry chill"

outstanding line Kacy!

loved it all...and I understand the dryness...if it goes too long it cracks.

Geez, Kacy  - you always have such a unique perspective on life:

but it refused to accept what was offered.
