This is what Moses knew... That waters would part to the grace of his beliefs. Sometimes an ocean lies between us. And yet like Moses and his faith of parting waters... We know. [This message has been edited by Ericc (12-14-2004 06:03 PM).] |

Yes, but life has a way of over-riding belief. You touch the core with so few words - amazing! |

Aahhhh...Helen, there is a knowing deeper than beliefs. Beliefs are the vehical for this deeper truth. A useful tool, but not to be clung to. At one time we believed the Earth was flat. We now know different. If such a belief was clung to, the laws of navigation would yet lay unknown. What Moses knew (perhaps)was that some things must be believed before they are seen. The belief that water can part before the wave of a hand is at best illogical and at worst, dangerous. Yet Moses refused to cling to this belief. He saw into the nature of water, he saw into his own nature and inter-beingness of all things. He used his belief to reach a deeper inner knowing. And the water parted. We know as Moses knew. But sometimes we don't know that we know. Love, Eric |

Eric, I love your poem and I also love your reply.... This is so true...... there is a knowing deeper than beliefs I believe that when we "know" beyond "belief", then it is settled into our hearts and then becomes reality. To me, "belief" is based upon what we see with our eyes...but when we come to the reality and our "eyes" are opened for us to "know" something, then it is a reality for us....even if it hasn't happened yet. I know that you understand this. It not only applies to religion, but also to love. thanks for making me think, my friend. Hugs, Ethel |

Thank you, Eric! I find myself many times in that knowing but then the ground moves and I fall from it all. Perhaps just the growing process. You have deep wisdom and I so very much appreciate you sharing it. Thank you. |

Ah Eric - you're very wise in so few words- Hugs - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Eric I hope you dont mind my irascible humour but I always wonder whether it was the faith of people that had the power to do the parting and joining, and probably nowadays we'd have to fit it in between reality programs. Dave |

Hi Dave, I don't mind the humor at all! In the Zohar, the book of wisdom from Kabbalah, they tell us that the people actually walked into the water until it was almost over their heads. Their faith had to be demonstrated before it became their reality. And reality itself is only an observation/participation event. Perhaps some saw only the solidity of water, and could not cross. While others saw the true nature of pure potentiality, and crossed with ease. Love, Eric |

Your voice rises through the ages. Dominus tecum... And I hear You. In unquivering trust I stand at the shore. Dominus mecum est... Distance is no more! A very inspiring write, dear Eric. And I enjoyed also your comments ... I love you. Margherita |
