December’s nights though long Do not match the cruelty of February Yet are harsh enough to wreak crisp fractures To the sky And cloud Dusting ground with white marrow I suck in on greedy tongue Thirsty for the touch of cold That might freeze these thoughts and words Inside my throat But I am warm In each breath drawn And exhale fog To hide the bite of nights trapped in stars And scars left on flesh from trying too hard To hold that which would slice Or tear the soul So I kneel In darkest hours of winter And turn my face towards the east And reach softly with hands That I might touch the coming dawn And feel inside myself the stir Of life Knowing snow falls with a whisper That may not be heard Over the hard crystals break of my words And that I starve to drink deep From the well of you [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (12-13-2004 09:52 AM).] |

If the sun were to shine on the crystal marrow, I wonder what you would see... definite "keeper", this is... Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen? Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises... |

You paint a cold harsh picture here Ron. But there is comfort in the cold expression of these words. Well done. believe in what your heart feels... |

Hi Ron "December’s nights though long Do not match the cruelty of February" So true for me. December is turning cold here again, although two days ago it was 86. Hard to believe. Your words, as always come from deep, and are warm, unlike the weather. |
