Of Heart and Mind

My heart and mind would joust again
The field of honors examen
Regenerate the past to date
To weigh upon blind justice fate

The ticking of the clock grows loud
And time does weave a lonely shroud
The essence of the heart would die
And mind would heave a deathly sigh

I cannot make the two to live
Better none than one forgive
So only change can make the day
And birth a butterfly some way

No words can light the sight of you
No other sky the true of blue
Perhaps within the sands of grime
Change will come a final time

I’ll dance this fife around the bend
Another time another end

I seriously do not know how you come up with words that work and belong together like that on a daily basis.

May your fife and drum strike up the band  forever more!

(Metamorphosing and coming back again and again can be quite enlightening!)

Angel hugs 'n kisses,

Dear Seymour, you know that I love all your poetry
with your perfect rhyme......this verse above
really stood out at me. I really need to study your
work. You not only have perfect rhyme and meter, but
you also write each poem with so much wisdom.
