(This is a new ballad I wrote that's part of my poetry set, which is reflective on both my experiences of heartbreak and adversity (Adonis Vernalis) and finding my voice of hope and transformation from it (Xeranthemum).)

Try Not To Show Me The Sky (The Language of Wildflowers: Adonis Vernalis) By: Noah Eaton 12/11/04
Try not to show me the sky, I already feel it falling in my mind, March came to me like a lamb, I feel the spring going out like a lion, And I watch it alone...
I’m limping through the park, through puddles of oleander after dark, Cold is the night, When the stars shine bright, And I watch them alone, I watch them alone...
If I could just reach up, And hold a tear up for each time it makes me cry, Maybe I could, Make sense of this this next time, Sometimes I, Think I’m the only one living under this sky, Try not to show me the sky, I feel alone...
Looking up I only feel so small, I don’t understand the general concept at all, Where there was modest worth, Sleep of heart has overslept, And I’m alone...
Smoke hovers near the ground, In my pestilence I don’t notice you around, First rise after low, Portends a stronger blow, And I’m alone... I've been left behind alone...
If I could just reach up, And hold a tear up for each time it makes me cry, Maybe I could, Make sense of this this next time, Sometimes I, Think I’m the only one living under this sky, Try not to show me the sky, I feel alone...
Try not to show me the sky, I already feel it falling in my mind, March came to me like a lamb, I feel the spring going out like a lion...
If I could just reach up, And hold a tear up for each time it makes me cry, Maybe I could, Make sense of this this next time, Sometimes I, Think I’m the only one living under this sky, Try not to show me the sky, I feel alone...

So beautiful...so sad... Noah, I felt every word and can picture you in your aloneness beneath a blanket of stars.
But Noah, I hope you now realize that you yourself are a star and that you shine your light upon others so that they do not feel so alone.
Hugs with love, Linda

Noah
Sad but beautifully written with such bluesy expression.
I thoroughly enjoyed the read....
"If I could just reach up, And hold a tear up for each time it makes me cry, Maybe I could, Make sense of this this next time,"
I think we've all felt that way sometime or other.
