She climbs the hill each day that overlooks her home, straps her backpack on, heads off to school. Yesterday they studied geology. She learned about the magnitude of earthquakes, how the ground shakes, shudders and growls, how buildings fall down, how the earth opens up and people are frightened, and sometimes die. Today they will be studying civics and history, how the people of this world live how the people of this world fight how the people of this world sometimes believe they are the chosen ones, the deserving ones the rightful heirs to the thrones of Man. So today she climbs the hill in anticipation, backpack strapped and ready to learn about life, filled with sheer energy and excitement, for she loves learning about the people of Earth, her homeland. Only today, she doesn’t make it all the way. History was never my favorite subject, and it’s an absolute pain to keep repeating it. * |

History was one of my favorite subjects. It's painful to watch isn't it? Better off staying in the hills where I hope to head before too long. Enjoyed |

Ironic, isn't it? That history can be studied and yet, it keeps repeating itself? Must be something in the nature of man. Yet, I love history - the parts where man overcomes his baser nature and shows the beauty of his soul - this part rarely seems to be read - but it is there when researched- Enjoyed this - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Richard, thanks for reading and commenting. I toned this write down from the original, which was too mournful to read. Sy, thank you for spending a moment here. Susan, yes, there are good history stories as well. In fact, I started one called the history student, version 2. But it isn't finished yet. Kind of like reality, eh? |
