Kind des Herbstes (Autumn’s Child) Define this moment, this season, this age as me draped in its fugitive suit My beard may hint days of fire but now’s the disciplined shade of telephone poles, accepting webs of new snow When young I dare dream myself the four story oak, but patient time has shown eternal root and branch are the binds of women Men drift to inorganic hardening, hope weaned of foothold in lenient loam I am; That gray cat in the yard his always startled greeting, a gaping hiss, which half masts to meows at the crooking finger coming slowly hither, the granite of ancient government buildings, drab wraps of gunmetal, old horn, slate, black and worn earth, the undercurrent of a baritone sax, London, Seattle, Boston I am not; A rusting, keyless lock needing picked, I avoid the sharp shards of drama and so the bright color of blood, tension’s pinched grip where a saddle would sit No I did not grow a mighty oak but will settle for the reluctant fall of dust motes streaming in the shadowed ladder of venetian blinds, flickering as stars in autumn’s waning light |

Enjoyed the images stirred here - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Now this is truly lovely. So graceful and gentle it seemed to me that the words floated. Outstanding m'friend. |

This style is really suiting you I must say. Fine use of images leaving one to ponder your train of though. |

German being my Mother tongue, I felt attracted to read ... and I am glad I did. Incredibly intense poetry. Ein Kind des Herbstes, Margrit |

Ah, but this is the side of your writing I like, and speaking of which can you post the one about the woods you did a long time ago? (forgot the title sorry) |
